Food-Themed Art Show

I’m excited to share that two of my pieces will be featured in an upcoming art show in Sonoma County, CA this November! I constantly search for fun art calls on the Call for Entry website and have been honing in on food-themed art shows. A recent call for art at Sebastopol Center for the Arts intrigued me - not only because they were curating a food-themed art show but the jurors were heavily involved in the food scene in Sonoma County. One is a 3 Michelin-star chef and the other is a renowned artist who grew up in Sebaspotol.

I entered two pieces (Dungeness Crab with Lemon and Sardines & Snacks) and they were accepted! I shipped them down this week and am eager to hear about the opening from afar.

I won’t be able to make it in person to the show, but SEB Arts has some cool experiences based around the show like PALLETTE - intimate dinner experiences planned in the space.

I’ve been inspired by the synergy of food and art and there’s so much overlap between cooking, creativity and the artistic process. Renee Erickson just released her newest cookbook “Sunlight and Breadcrumbs” which revolves around her art journey and how it influences her creativity in the kitchen. I also am inspired by Andrianne Paerels, who is an incredible artist and frequently partners with Fishwife - tinned fish is having a moment and I hope it never ends.
